The North Langley Kodiaks took their show on the road to Bear Creek Park to battle the North Surrey Bears.
North Surrey held a 12-0 lead going in to the 2nd quarter until Kodiak RB Drey Blair got his team on the scoreboard and Charlie May kicked the convert to make it 12-7.
North Surrey took the ensuing kickoff all the way back for a touchdown then added a two point conversion to take a 20-7 lead into half time.
The Kodiaks managed to gain some momentum in the third with a safety making the score 20-9. The Kodiaks kept the ball rolling with a 40 yard touchdown pass from Isaiah Key to Luke Chalk with Charlie May kicking the convert to close the gap to 20-16.
It looked like North Surrey had taken control of the game for good when they took a Kodiak fumble and returned it for a touchdown extending their lead to 27-16.
The Kodiaks, however, never gave up, and in the middle of the 4th quarter Drey Blair ran another touchdown closing the lead again.
The Kodiaks managed to get the ball back with an onside kick, and once again their ground game went to work with Drey Blair getting his third touchdown of the game.
Charlie May converted again to give the Kodiaks the lead for good as the game ended 29-27 for the Kodiaks.
Nick Lacroix, Yunjae Boo, Kalum MacPherson and Austin Benzel lead the way defensively for the Kodiaks. The Kodiaks face North Delta at home at MacLeod Athletic Park this coming Saturday.
